KFD Community Outreach
If you have an idea about how the Fire Department can reach out
to the community, we'd love to hear it!
Be on the lookout for jolly ol'
Saint Nick as he makes an early trip through Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, and
Lazy Bend. The reindeer are resting up for their big night so the Kemah Fire
Department will be escorting Santa through town. Instead of jingle bells, be
sure to listen for horns and sirens - that'll be Santa!!! To receive advance notice of Santa's visit,
sign up on our newsletter by sending an email to news
@ kemahfire . com with
the word "SUBSCRIBE" in the subject line.
Child's Bedroom Fire-Rescue Window Sticker
Place on the outside of the
window of your child's/children's room. ALERT Firefighters React to this
window sticker. Remove from window when the child no longer
occupies the room or when they move away from the premises. A
firefighter may enter a burning building needlessly if this sticker is not
removed. The Kemah Fire Department offers
many community outreach programs designed to promote fire safe behavior
through a variety of educative mediums. Public safety education offerings
include fire safety lectures, educative entertainment for children, fire
department history, and fire safety demonstrations. For further information
on our free educational programs or to schedule an event, please contact the
department at (281) 538-5727. Our Fire Safety Education Program provides
Fire Department speakers trained in basic fire safety education and covers
common fire hazards, proper use of a fire extinguisher, installation and
maintenance of smoke detectors, critical evacuation skills and a video on
fire safety. Literature on burn prevention tips and burn first aid is also
included. Fire safety speaking engagements are structured to accommodate all
ages and learning abilities. Youngster demos may include a firefighter with
turnout gear and a tour of an engine or ambulance. More school visit photos
here. We are very proud of our new fire station!
If you would like to schedule a tour of the new fire station (as an individual
or group), please give us a call at (281) 538-5727.
We are honored when we have visitors come by and we are glad to give tours!
Giving us as much advance notice as possible helps to ensure that we will have
adequate staff on site! We look forward to seeing you! |
